After completing this learning path you'll have the solid foundation for rigging in 3ds Max that you'll need to move onto some of the more advanced 3ds Max tutorials here at Pluralsight Creative.

Q: What is a Quick Start learning path? How do I use them and how are they different than other learning paths? A. While learning paths are a great method of organizing courses into levels, the courses in regular learning paths are still independent of each other. This means that you will be presented with different projects throughout the learning path. Think of Quick Starts as that perfect blend between a traditional learning path, the Skill-Builder series and even the popular Production Pipeline series. Quick Start learning paths are designed from the ground up to be a series of courses that should be watched together and in a specific order. Another difference with Quick Start learning paths are the assignments at the end of each course to help you be able to implement the techniques you've learned into your own projects better. As with other learning paths, we recommend that you start with the first course and work your way through all of the courses and levels sequentially.
Q: Do I need to know 3ds Max to follow along with this learning path? A. Some knowledge of 3ds Max is required before starting with this learning path. The tutorials in this learning path are focused on teaching you techniques for rigging in 3ds Max, so while you don't need to know how to model in 3ds Max it would be helpful if you were already familiar with some basics of moving around in 3ds Max.
Q. Are there any tutorials that I should watch before starting this learning path? A. If you are completely new to 3ds Max we would recommend following along with either the Beginner's Guide to 3ds Max before starting with this learning path.
Q. Where do I go after completing this learning path? A. After completing this learning path you'll be ready to take on some of the more advanced 3ds Max learning paths here at Pluralsight Creative.
Q: How is the Quick Start to Rigging in 3ds Max learning path different than any of the other 3ds Max learning paths at Pluralsight Creative? A. This learning path focuses on teaching you the subject of rigging in 3ds Max. Unlike the Rigging in 3ds Max learning path that uses a number of different courses throughout the learning path with a wide range of projects, this learning path is much more focused and was created from the ground up as courses that were meant to be watched together so that you can get up and running with rigging in 3ds Max much faster.
Q: Do I have to follow along with the tutorial? Can I work on my own project? A. We highly recommend that you follow along with the project in this learning path before attempting to venture off onto your own project. You'll notice that this learning path has numerous hands-on exercises built into the courses that are targeted at teaching you how to better transfer the knowledge you've learned into your own projects.
Q: What if the version of 3ds Max in the tutorial is different than what I have? Can I still follow along? A. Yes! While there are certainly new tools and features that get added with each new version of 3ds Max, a majority of the core techniques taught are the same and can be transferred easily from version to version. Just keep in mind that due to file version differences it may not be possible to open project files that were created in a newer version of 3ds Max if you're using an older version.
